Canadian Food Safety Forum
Enhancing Public Trust
The Canadian Federation of Agriculture is hosting the Canadian Food Safety Forum on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 in Gatineau, Quebec from - 1:30-6:30 p.m.
The event will explore how can Canada strengthen public trust in food safety? Recent public opinion polls identify food safety as one of Canadians’ primary concerns with the agri-food system; yet Canada has one of the world’s most stringent regulatory systems. Studies also show that increasingly Canadians lack the basic knowledge and understanding of food safety and proper food handling practices.
The event aims to explore this challenge in an interactive session with various stakeholders, such as government officials, researchers, industry groups, public health leaders and communications experts.
CAIA Executive Director, Timothy Kennedy will be participating in the event to represent the interests of Canada’s seafood farming community.
