2016-2018 International Marketing Project Conclusion
CAIA and its member partners have concluded a 2016-2018 International Marketing Project to increase awareness and demand for Canadian farmed fish and seafood in the United States, Asia and Europe.
With $2.48 million in support from the Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) AgriMarketing Program the two-year project, which concluded on March 31, 2018, included five species-specific marketing strategies aimed to increase their volume and/or value in all target markets namely, salmonids, mussels, oysters, sablefish and caviar/roes.
Twenty member partners participated in the 2016-2018 Project through execution of a variety unique marketing strategies, essential export preparedness initiatives, and in-market research and promotion campaigns.
Work is underway now to complete the final project performance and financial reporting requirements of the program.
Simultaneously, CAIA is developing a new AgriMarketing funding proposal for a new 2018-2021 project. CAIA’s call for member partners issued in March met a great response. Application packages have since been received from 18 members. CAIA is doing the work now to aggregate member’s planned activities into a generic project proposal for submission to AAFC in May.
