2018 Ministerial Mission to China
Minister Lawrence MacAulay is scheduled to lead this high-profile trade mission to China from November 7 to 16, 2018. The cities included in the program are Qingdao, Shanghai, and Beijing. The mission would follow this sequence of order for the cities included in the program; however, it is still subject to change.
The trade mission will provide an opportunity to raise the profile of Canadian agricultural, agri-food, and fish and seafood products in the Chinese market. During the mission, Minister MacAulay will engage with key Chinese interlocutors to discuss key trade issues. Minister MacAulay will also attend the China Fish and Seafood Expo in Qingdao as well as the Food and Hospitality China trade show in Shanghai to support the promotion of Canadian products to Chinese and international buyers.
AAFC has launched an online registration platform to allow those interested to register for the mission and obtain more information about logistical components, including suggested hotel accommodations and visa requirements to enter China. The last possible date to register is October 19, 2018.
The registration fees will be collected to partially cover the costs associated with the mission, including event room rentals, receptions and ground transportation. We will be providing additional information on the online registration process and other logistical elements (e.g., hotels and information on visa applications) in the near future.
