China Fisheries & Seafood Expo 2017
Among its services, CAIA works with members to enhance market awareness within the industry and increase seafood sales.
The China Fisheries & Seafood (CFSE) is among our primary trade show efforts. Started in 1995, the CFSE has become a world class event that featured over 1,400 exhibitors from 46 countries and 28,000 visitors from 100 countries from November 1-3, 2017. CAIA participates in the Canadian Pavilion at this event to promote Canadian farmed seafood and to facilitate export business for members.
A number of members participated with their own exhibits and from the CAIA booth including: Atlantic Aqua Farms Partnership, Badger Bay Mussel Farms, Cermaq Canada, Cooke Aquaculture, Fanny Bay Oysters, Maison BeauSoleil and Newfoundland Aquaculture Industry Association. Participating members reported the generation of a combined $2 million in sales at the show.
Demand from China is growing steadily, with 2016 exports of farmed seafood products to China up by $31.3M (308.41%) over 2015.
