AgriMarketing 2018 and Beyond
In a news release issued on November 24th, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada announced the inclusion of AgriMarketing among the initiatives and priorities of the $1 billion federal investment under the Canadian Agricultural Partnership (CAP), which is set to launch on April 1, 2018.
AgriMarketing aims to increase and diversify exports to international markets and seize market opportunities through industry-led promotional activities that differentiate Canadian products and producers, and leverage Canada's reputation for high quality and safe food. Under previous policy frameworks, eligible costs were reimbursed at 50%.
CAIA has managed multiple member-led projects funded through AgriMarketing since 2009 and in the last year have made several improvements in service delivery to our members. Improving service delivery will continue to be an important goal for CAIA.
CAIA will be submitting an application for funding again under this new policy framework. Members with generic marketing activities aimed at increasing exports of Canadian farmed seafood will be welcome to participate with CAIA in the development and execution of this new project application.
AgriMarketing program details and application forms will be made available by AAFC in early 2018. Upon review, CAIA will be reaching out to all members to solicit interest in participating in our project proposal and with next steps.
We look forward to working together with you to improve the competiveness of Canadian farmed seafood.
